Project Real-time data distribution in distributed object middleware
Description The Real-Time Data Distribution project is developing middleware mechanisms and algorithms for distributing real-time data. Real-time data has timing constraints on its validity (e.g. it gets old, such as sensor data). A distributed real-time application has timing constraints on when programs need the data. The algorithms and mechanisms that we are developing synthesize these two sources of timing constraints to develop scheduling algorithms and parameters for the real-time middleware. This project will likely produce a common middleware service, such as one adhering to the OMG's emerging Real-Time Data Distribution standard, and/or as an extension to the OMG Event Service.
